׳The Jerusalem Andalusian Orchestra׳

1. Season Concerts:

Bat Kol

Music from the North African Jewish repertoire. A celebration of tradition and renewal in the spirit of the warm, embracing and inclusive Maghreb Jewish traditions.

Participants: Lior Elmaliach, Mor Karbasi, and Harel Shachal (Turkish clarinet).

Homage to Salim Halali

Salim Halali, one of Morocco’s cultural icons and a phenomenally talented singer and musician, was the first to combine North African and European music styles such as Spanish Flamenco, French chansons, and Italian Sanremo.

Participants: Benjamin Bouzaglo and Amal Shaheen.

Andalusia Blues

Classic blues and black music meet the unique arrangements and sounds of the orchestra.

Participants: Margalit Tzan’ani and the Hebrews from Dimona.

The Golden Cassettes

A tribute concert to the golden hits of the 70s.

Participants: Idan Amedi, Yehuda Keisar (electric guitar).

Persian Nights

The best of pre-revolution Iran’s Persian pop.

Participants: Liraz Charhi and Eliran Rostamian.

Homage to Avi Eilam-Amzallag

A tribute concert to the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra’s first conductor — Professor Avi Eilam-Amzallag.
Participants: Emil Zrihan, Rabbi David Edri, and Lior Elmaliach.

Homage to Rabbi David Edri

A tribute performance to piytan and educator, Rabbi David Edri.

Participants: Emil Zrihan and the Piytanim Choir.

Jerusalem Day, Tower of David

An annual event to mark Jerusalem Day in the presence of the mayor.

Participants: Orit Atar and Emil Zrihan.

Award Ceremony to award Maestro Tom Cohen the title of Honorary Associate of the Ruppin Academic Center.

Participants: Ania Bukstein

La Folle Journée Festival (the Mad Day)

Seven concerts performed in the international classical music festival—the Mad Day in Nantes, France.

Participants: Nasreen Qadri, Ziv Yehezkel, with Neta Elkayam and Mark Eliyahu (kamancheh).
