An intense rhythmic performance combining, for the first time on an Israeli stage, the energetic musical style typically played by the Berber tribes in North Africa, with arrangements in the orchestra’s unique language that will take it into the realms of jazz and pop. Singer, gnawa, and sinter artist Mehdi Nassouli is coming to us from Morocco and will host, on stage, three Karabakh musicians (a traditional instrument) who will also perform responsorial singing. One Thousand and One Nights—classic Arab hits from the Middle East with unique and refreshing arrangements in the orchestra’s language. On stage, two extraordinary performers whose popularity dissolves borders—the vocal virtuoso and prince of Tarab, Ziv Yehzkel, and Diva Violet Salameh with her mesmerizing voice. On stage 1: the young talent Alex Hori whose video clips went viral during the Corona pandemic on the Arab world’s social media.

The Jerusalem Orchestra East West and Tipex meet on stage for a celebratory concert! On offer: a Tipex playlist dressed in a festive orchestral kaftan that reaches back to their Middle Eastern roots. Special guest: Daniel sun Krief.

The orchestra is proud to host Ehud Banai, one of the artists responsible for crafting Israel’s musical DNA. Banai sets out on a journey that passes through the Persian piyut he grew up on, rock influences that left an indelible mark on his music, his first successful release and his rise to stardom with massive hits that are part of all our lives. Between songs, Ehud will treat us to his famous storytelling abilities and will host singer Sama Shufani, who will shine a spotlight on a special period of his career.

Linet, an Israeli singer who lives in Turkey and has become one of their most loved and successful artists, is returning to Israel after many years. The concert features the songs that made her who she is today, ranging from Turkish Arabesque classics to some musical surprises. Guest artist: Baglamas virtuoso, Itzik Rikan.

The long-standing love affair between Yasmin Levy and the orchestra continues. New arrangements in the language of the orchestra for Yasmin Levy’s much-loved Ladino songs with a touch of the popular Spanish repertoire. Special guest: Flamenco guitarist Yechiel Hasson.

A performance featuring the international star, Ishtar and the gypsy band, Los Niños de Sara, which has been backing her for years. Compositions include: Alabina Yalla, Habibi ya Nour El Ein, Hurshat Ha'Eucalyptus and more.

The orchestra hosts Guy Zu-Aretz for a unique performance of Ladino songs and piyutim that reach back to his childhood. A journey into Guy and his brother’s roots and the story of their family who immigrated to Israel from Lebanon and Tripoli. Songs include Adon HaSelichot, Tzur Mishelo Achalnu, Avraham Avinu, Adio Kerida and more. Guest artist: Guy Zu-Aretz (piano).

On the Strait of Gibraltar, Europe, Africa, Spain, Morocco, the oud and Flamenco guitar meet. The deep voice of Flamenco singer Yehuda Shawki, fresh from Spanish Morocco, Spain’s Dalal Barnoussi with his incredible vocal reach and Spanish virtuoso guitarist Fyty Carrillo. Joining them will be two of Israel’s best Flamenco dancers—Sharon Saguy and Keren Pesach.

A homage to the Gypsy Kings. A piping hot Spanish concert with unique Gypsy voices that have become integral to the soundtracks of Latin music lovers. Participants: Los Niños de Sara (Spanish band).

A concert suffused with chaabi (folk music) and North African nostalgia.

A dynamic concert bursting with rhythm and soul will tie together the various threads of the African continent. Nubian desert music (Egypt-Sudan) and hypnotic ritualism from the Gnawa and Tuareg tribes. On stage, Neta Elkayam, known in Morocco, where she frequently performs by the nickname “dove of peace.” Alongside her, the man and the groove, Ravid Kahalani, whose band, Yemen Blues, which he founded and leads, has performed almost everywhere part of the world.

50 years since the passing of Asher Mizrahi. A tribute concert to the poet, composer and one of piyut’s greatest cantors who wrote and composed over 500 piyutim and songs in Arabic and Ladino. Participants: Moshe Louk and Ziv Yehezkel

A concert dedicated to an Israel-specific, geo-cultural phenomenon—Yemenite vineyards. The repertoire includes Tsliley HaKerem and Tsliley HaOud, and features artists such as Suleiman the Great, Daklon, Ahuva Ozeri, and more. Participants: A-WA band and Shai Tsabari.

A homage to Jo Amar, the legendary Hebrew piyut singer who forged a new path and was the first to break through to the Israeli mainstream in the 50s and 60s. When poetry slam and an orchestra meet, the result is a one-of-a-kind concert. Lucy Ayoub tells a story that dips into her family’s life in the Promised Land to melodies composed by Tom Cohen and performed by 30 orchestral musicians alongside their original compositions.

In this performance, we are treated to an appearance by one of Greece’s all-time greats, Eleni Vitali. Eleni will perform her most popular songs drawn from an amazing career spanning over 45 years and sung with her mesmerizing voice.
