Season 14
2022-2023
׳The Jerusalem Orchestra East West׳
1. Yasou! Glykeria
מנצח:
Between Israel and Greece, there is a star that shines brighter than the rest. Glykeria, the singer who connects our Mediterranean port countries, introduced the Israeli audience to some timeless classics and brought wonderful Hebrew folk songs back to Greece, bringing a new dimension to the concept of Leiko Trageodi (folk song). Bringing all these together, she will open the orchestra's season with a dazzling and colorful concert.
Guest player: Tzafi Shlomo – bouzouki
2. Bint El Sultan
מנצח:
The relationship between the orchestra and Nasreen Qadri has been deepening for a decade. Today, when she is one of the most prominent and respected singers in Israeli music, she returns for another series of concerts that celebrates the giant divas of Arab music – Umm Kulthum, Fairuz, Warda Al-Jazairia, and others – and dresses them in new and colorful arrangements. Accompanied by the Elsheikh Choir – Center for Traditional Music.
Guest player: Amjad Mrih – accordion
3. Voice of the Maghreb
מנצח:
The human movement throughout history brought to the Maghreb influences, colors, tastes and sounds from around the entire world. Two of the most prominent young female voices in North Africa today, Sanaa Marahati and Dalal Bernoussi, sing and tell all the beauty between Andalusia and Casablanca. Accompanied by the Elsheikh Choir – Center for Traditional Music
Guest player: Elad Levi – Kamanja
